CHESS CLUB
CHESS CLUB
The WCPS Chess Club is run by a professional Chess Coach and is co-ordinated by our P&F. Chess Club runs on Thursdays 3.15pm – 4.00pm. Participants have the opportunity to compete against their fellow WCPS students as well as take part in inter-school competitions.

CHOIR
CHOIR
Children in Years 3-6 are invited to audition for the school choir. The Choir offers a range of performance opportunities throughout the year, both at school and at community events including school events, liturgical celebrations, the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival and One Big Voice Festival. Auditions for the choir will be announced by the Music Specialist via the weekly newsletter.
DANCE – Boys’ Dance
DANCE – Boys’ Dance
WCPS Boys’ Dance, a non-audition and no prior experience required program for boys from Years 4 – 6.
This hip-hop and break-dancing program provides the dancers with opportunities for further development in collaboration, teamwork, skill enhancement, body awareness, strength, interpersonal and communicative skills, as well as a growth in confidence. The Boys Dance group have won awards over the years such as “Community Friendship” and “Most Entertaining Performance” competing alongside Primary and Secondary School performances at the Meraki Festival 2018 and 2019. DANCE – Christian Dance
The Christian Dance Program is a smaller group which requires an audition of students from Years 4- 6 who currently have dance experience in classes outside of school. This program follows the style of ballet, contemporary and lyrical. DANCE – Specialist Dance
Specialist Dance is a non-audition and no prior experience required program for students in Years 5 – 6 who wish to immerse themselves in classes of a Jazz Dance style. The Specialist Dance program is for any student wanting to experience extra dance rehearsals and performances on a professional stage with a live audience. With a variety of students with no dance experience to experienced within the group. The Specialist Dance group have won awards over the years such as “Most Entertaining Performance” and “Best Choreography” competing alongside Primary and Secondary School performances at the Meraki Festival 2018 and 2019. Students may enrol into our Instrumental Program and learn a musical instrument from one of our visiting instrumental teachers. We offer private lessons on a variety of instruments after school hours through an external provider located at our school. This STEM focussed program helps children explore the scientific world by building custom motorised models.

Young engineers develop their algorithmic thinking and program implementation using LEGO WEDO 2.0 graphic programming.
